For Activists

Are you actively involved in social and political movements in Vienna or part of a collective and want to engage in support work? Do you have an emancipatory approach? Do you want to take action against violence and discrimination and discuss how to support others effectively, especially in cases of sexualized violence?

We welcome you to join our Skill-Sharing Weekend, whether you have years of experience in support work or are new to the topic.

AwA* and friends are organizing this weekend – if you’d like to help, reach out! We’d love to have you on board.

Register now via the form below!

Together with other groups (including SupportSupport from Germany), AwA* invites you to a Skill-Sharing Weekend where we aim to create a space for collective learning:

  • How can we, as a group, provide support to people affected by sexualized violence?
  • How can we support groups in processing cases of violence and boundary violations?
  • How can we deal with cases of violence and boundary-crossing behavior as a group?
  • How can we engage with individuals who have caused harm?
  • How can we integrate self-care into these processes as a group?
  • How do we set up a contact point within our group for those seeking support?

There will be structured inputs as well as informal exchange and networking opportunities. To maintain a steady learning environment, we encourage participants to attend both days.

  • Transformative Justice
  • Community Accountability
  • Advocacy and Solidarity
  • The Power of Definition
  • Activism and Self-Care
  • Registration required
  • Warm vegan meals will be provided on a donation basis.
  • An Awareness-Team will be present throughout the event.
  • If you need anything to support your participation, let us know, and we will try to organize it.
  • A Care & Chill Space will be available which can be used as a retreat area.
  • We’re planning for about 50 people.
  • We have low-barrier-access and -toilets. More information about acces under: https://4lthangrund.jetzt/zugang-zu-4lthangrund
  • We plan to collect and document our discussions and create a small toolbox or zine, including resources, advisory services, and materials. If you’re interested in contributing, get in touch
