Working in the (core-) collective
You’re interested in Awareness-work?
Come to a meet up!
To make participation in our collective possible, we regularly host meet-and-greet evenings. During these evenings, we introduce AwA* and our awareness work, and create space to get to know each other.
At the moment, we are particularly looking for people interested in contributing in the areas of shift coordination, educational work, and organizational tasks, and who generally want to be involved in the field of awareness work.
Interested? Want to get to know us? Come by!
Dates for the meet-and-greet evenings are posted regularly on Instagram.
Please register via: office@awa-stern.at

The goal of our work is it to make ourselves unnecessary.
We work toward a society in which mindful and solidaristic ways of relating to one another are everyday practice. A society in which people have the tools and the space to make decisions and to navigate conflicts in mindful and non-violent ways.
We are convinced that a path toward this is possible through empowerment and emancipatory work.

Working in public spaces
As part of the project “Awareness in Public Space”, we offer seasonal paid positions during the summer months (in 2025, this was from 13 May to 20 September 2025).
A public call for applications will be released at the beginning of the year. If you’re interested in awareness work in public spaces, we look forward to receiving your application once the positions are officially announced.
Please keep an eye out independently.
We publish the calls in various places, for example here on the website or on Instagram.

Internships

In principle, it is possible to do an internship with AwA*. However, our resources are limited, which means we can only offer internships with a minimum duration of six months and/or internships with the prospect of continued collaboration.
The summer months are a particularly suitable period, as this allows involvement in the public space project, though this is not a requirement.
It is important for us to note that we are a self-organized collective. Accordingly, a certain level of initiative and self-organization is expected from interns.
